Mike Drury
He loved most of his jobs during his working career. He would work late on weekends when he had an interesting, challenging project.
He traveled a lot, but not enough. His travels included South America, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Canada, and Europe. He saw the tip of South America, Churchill on the Hudson Bay, the Coliseum, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Kilauea volcano, and the cliff divers of Acapulco. But the most impressive sight he ever saw was the first time he saw mountains - out the window of a second-class train headed to Mexico City from Laredo at 4 am in 1967, six months after graduating college. It was actually purple.
He lived on 23 acres in Denton for 45 years, returning to Anna in 2020 where he now resides.
